The Beta Campaign
When we were young MechWarriors, the BattleTechnical Beta Campaign brought us together. This is now a historical record of those events.
In 2001, I got a few friends together to play a series of games where each of us played as commanders over several Mechs. Ernie, Dave, and Rick were the 3 primary players, in addition to myself. (My brother, Tim, also joined us for one game also.) Each game session we had a different player as the attacker and that player selected the location of the battle. This determined which player was the defender and which Mechs would be involved in the battle. (The non-active players joined in as assistants to either the attacker or the defender for that game.) The defender was the one who selected which terrain maps we'd use for the battle.
